Getting started for measurement partners
As a measurement partner, you can upload two types of measurement data to The Trade Desk platform: offline and real-time conversion events. Offline conversion events include late, batch data such as in-store sales or place visits. Real-time conversion events, as the name suggests, include real-time data with no batching or backfilling, such as shopping cart-level data.
Conversion events
Here's what you need to know about the offline and real-time Measurement APIs:
- Both options support the following types of IDs, including Unified IDs (UIDs):
- UID2s
- EUIDs (Europe and the UK only)
- Cookies
- Device IDs (DAIDs)
- RampIDs (formerly known as IDLs)
- To convert personally identifiable information (PII), such as email addresses and phone numbers (APAC only), to UID2s, use the UID2 API.
- You can include additional metadata in any of the ten custom fields TD1-TD10.
- You can integrate your CRM data to create data segments for audience targeting and conversion measurement.
- Both APIs use signature headers for Signature header authentication.
- To create a tracking tag for attribution of offline events, additional Platform API credentials are required for the Offline Conversion Events Measurement API.
- Merchants can use the respective API to upload their product data. For details, see Upload product catalog data.
For abbreviations and term definitions, see Glossary. The following sections list prerequisites for each Measurement API and provide links to the respective integration guides with detailed procedures and examples.
